Founding Statement & Mission

Founded in 1983, SurgiMark recognized the needs expressed by general surgeons for improvements in commonly used instruments, devices, and appliances.  Our flagship product the universally adaptable Via-Guard® suction system answered the demand for quality high-flow, clog-free, dual-action surgical/medical suction.  The dual-action is created with the worldwide standard Yankauer suction handle and alternates tip and poole suction by applying the Via-Guard® converter sleeve.  The simple process occurs without the need to change the suction device or apparatus.  The improved performance, time savings, and reduction in materials management requirements have made the Standard Yankauer Via-Guard® the preferred suction system nationwide.  Our drive to excel has brought recent innovative improvements to the Via-Guard® making the tip atraumatic, more efficient, more clog-free, more ergonomic, and bringing more pride and pleasure to the user.  These are qualities that make work more enjoyable and create the deep satisfaction that results from giving better patient care.
